Oak Leaf Stages 2004

Excellent weather marked the running of our motor clubs Oak Leaves Stages at Willbarston. 79 crews started the Ecurie Royal Oak event with Mick Gilman in his Escort Cosworth coming in first overall.
In a change to the norm Andrew Bailey who normally navigates in the Impreza was trying his hand in the other seat today with Andrew Owen in the co-driving seat.

Dave Hopwood's Escort was quick off the blocks fighting for class honors but 4 broken wheels saw him finish 3rd in class, 9th overall. A good test before the Tour of Mull for the rebuilt engine, "a couple more tweaks and we will be ready".

Andrew Bailey also had a good run getting up to 4th overall before hitting gear selection problems on stage 7.
